Adeyemo Shokunbi is a British trained architect – with educational degrees, BA (Honours) in Architecture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture in 1988 and 1992 respectively.
He worked for a number of UK architectural firms before co setting-up an architecture and interior design firm called CFA Interiors Ltd, specialising in the design and build of high-end-new-build and refurbishment projects in the commercial and private sector across the UK. He relocated to Lagos, Nigeria in 2006 to work on a few projects before setting-up patrickwaheed design consultancy (PWDC) with Patrick Koshoni in the 2007.
Since then, as a Creative Director, Ade has been involved in a wide range of architecture and interior design projects throughout the country that span across different typologies and scales. Ade’s expertise extends to the making process of his architecture. He is involved in every stage and phase. His unique hands-on approach sets him up in the circle of ‘architectural craftsmanship’ and establishes his name in the Nigerian building sphere.
In 2008, as an extension to the design practice, PWDC set-up an art gallery called Artistic Licence. AL was established to showcase and champion contemporary Nigerian creative thinking and culture across a wide range of art forms. Artists like Alex Nwokolo, Lemi Ghariokwu, Adewale Alimi plus many more were able to travel down ‘the road less travelled’ with us. Ade is a registered chartered architect with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (MNIA)
